Let’s go on a inspiration treasure hunt

Art inspiration is not something falling from the sky or hitting you like lightning. Let’s take it in our own hands! Today I invite you to consciously look at your surroundings, walk in your backyard, PAY ATTENTION, have you lately appreciated the gorgeous color of the olive tree, or the plants growing between rocks? Nature is insanely gorgeous. So, let’s get inspired.

Grab your camera, phone, or a viewfinder, and let’s head out.  It can be your garden, a public park, or where ever you find beauty.

This would be fun for so many themes but today let’s stick to NATURE. Breathing the fresh air, taking a break, and enjoy the beauty!

Before you want to learn how to draw you must learn how to see!

Your muse NATURE is waiting for you

I wonder who had decided which plants are weeds and which are not..  Aren’t this little, delicate white flowers too precious with the dark shrub behind. I also find the Hortensias incredibly inspiring for art. The combination of having this ‘crumble like’ flowers and than next to them the big petals.

Art is like nature. If you do not let it in through the door it will enter trough a window.

What a great combination. Isn’t that what we try to apply in our paintings, ‘variation of shapes and sizes”!

Just looking at all the different shapes, textures, and colors, is so inspiring. Imagine simple black line drawings, or touches of watercolor with floweres drawn in pencil on top…there are so many possibilities. It is literally impossible not to be inspired!

After taking some pictures of trees, I couldn’t resist and made a pencil drawing and had some fun with hatching.

Let’s head out now and get inspired. Look at your ‘beauties’ and imagine what you could create….

It would be fantastic if you share your photos!
